Position Summary

The HR & Benefits Specialist will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and wellness initiatives. This role also supports key HR functions including onboarding, compliance, and employee inquiries. The ideal candidate is highly organized, customer-focused, and passionate about employee well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life/disability insurance, etc.)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries and issue resolution
  • Coordinate benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations in HRIS and with carriers
  • Support annual open enrollment, including communications and system updates
  • Ensure benefits compliance with federal and state laws (COBRA, ACA, HIPAA, ERISA)
  • Assist with leave administration (FMLA, ADA, STD/LTD, personal leave)
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes related to benefits
  • Reconcile monthly benefits invoices and resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in HRIS and benefits platforms
  • Contribute to wellness and employee engagement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • 2–4 years of experience in HR or benefits administration
  • Strong understanding of benefits compliance requirements and HR best practices
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Workforce, Dynamics 365, etc.)
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • High level of discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Compensation: $71,040.00 - $92,120.00 per year
